16+ years designing web and mobile products across e-commerce, financial services, healthcare, media, and ed-tech — turning regulatory complexity into interfaces people actually trust.

I'm a User Experience Designer with 16+ years leading end-to-end design across web and mobile products in e-commerce, financial services, healthcare, media, and ed-tech. My work spans user research, usability testing, wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity visual design — always in close partnership with product management and engineering to validate problems before we ship solutions.
That work shows up in measurable outcomes. At Walmart Marketplace, I led a full redesign of the Brand Portal and design for all of its new features — taking it from its legacy look and feel to align with a new company style guide — and designed a Brand Portfolio experience projected to improve content management across 5.7M branded products and contribute up to $50M in incremental GMV, on a platform responsible for 45% of Walmart's online sales; I also drove UX strategy for affiliate marketing initiatives and the Marketplace account creation flow. At McGraw Hill, I built an internal CMS for the ALEKS platform that authors and stores 40,000+ learning algorithms behind instruction used by millions of students. At Kaiser Permanente, I was part of the ACAA (Access Care Anytime, Anywhere) team and owned the Welcome Page — the first screen members saw when they logged in — designing and usability-testing fully responsive layouts across every breakpoint, from phone to two sizes of desktop, for a health system serving 12+ million members. At The Walt Disney Studios, I defined UX strategy for a high-volume residual payments system, reducing payment errors and delays in a process where accuracy directly affected whether talent and rights holders were paid correctly and on time. And early in my career at Extron Electronics, I designed the interface for the company's Product Configuration Software (PCS) and its IN1600-series product family, earned a networking certification to support that work, and pioneered the use of Adobe Fireworks for interactive prototyping there.
Much of my career has been spent inside complex, highly regulated industries — automotive finance, healthcare, enterprise marketplaces — where the stakes of getting an interface wrong are real, and where clear, accessible design has to hold up to legal, clinical, and business scrutiny simultaneously.
Alongside my design work, I spent time as a Licensed Real Estate Agent with Great Texas Properties, managing residential real estate transactions end-to-end — client consultations, contract negotiation, and coordination with lenders, inspectors, and title companies. Different industry, same instincts: understand what the client actually needs, then deliver on it.
I've also managed and mentored design teams, coordinating timelines and resourcing while keeping a hands-on eye on the work itself. I care about the craft as much as the process.
Many of these were built for regulated, enterprise-scale products under NDA, so details here focus on problem, process, and impact.
Third-party sellers drove over 45% of Walmart's online sales in 2023 — but the Brand Portfolio tool inside Walmart Marketplace's Brand Portal, which controls who on a seller's team can edit content, manage listings, and use marketing tools, hadn't kept pace. This project rebuilt that permissions system from the ground up.

This project built a guided, batch-oriented claim wizard so brand owners can search the catalog and report multiple counterfeit listings in a single flow.

"I could trust Amanda to flex her depth of contribution and manage the timelines/speed needed to maintain the product roadmap for a new and fast moving team. She did a great job sharing UX design principles/perspectives while also being willing to work with product mgmt on combining perspectives. Amanda would make herself available when product would need it and be highly collaborative in these sessions.
